U.K. travelers can now enjoy Arizona’s unforgettable offerings year-round, thanks to American Airlines’ direct flights from London Heathrow to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, launched on March 31, 2019. In order to increase awareness of these new flights, the Arizona Office of Tourism partnered with American Airlines to host a group of British travel writers from the U.K.
In addition, 2019 marks Grand Canyon National Park’s 100th anniversary and 50 years since the Apollo 11 moon landing, for which the astronauts were trained in Flagstaff, Arizona. These celebrations provided two more reasons why the writers visited the state in 2019.
